A good day for a train ride

Caiden and Micah decided to dress alike in clothes that Grandma and Grandpa got them to go on the train. I thought they looked pretty cute.

Yeah, here comes the train. Is it just me or is a pretty popular spot for a picture of the train?

Pam called and surprised me by saying that she and Jake were going to head up our way the same weekend that my Mom and Jim were here. The more the merrier. She and Jake joined us at Roaring Camp for the day.

Jake and Caiden are barn animals. : )

Pam and Caiden are the sheriff and the little lady.

Caiden and I weren't so lucky in our photo. Caiden got thrown in jail and I am also a barn animal. A very short hard-to-fit-my-head-into barn animal I might add.

Us on the train.

Micah is wiped out.

Jake took a picture of us looking bigger than life.

Caiden got put in a tree hole so we could take cute pictures of him. Ah, what kids suffer for the sake of cute pictures.

We had a great time. I hope my family comes back soon.

Family visit

My Mom and Jim decided to come up with my nephew Caiden to hang out with us since they had Caiden this week. It was fun having them here.

Micah wasn't sure what to think of Grandpa Jim's facial hair.

And sometimes you just have to taste Grandpa's overalls.

Jeff and Caiden played some ball in the back yard and then sat down to have a break. After this Caiden and Uncle Jeff and Micah (held by a very out of shape Aunt Wendy) raced around the yard. The next day Aunt Pam participated in the races as well. Caiden won pretty much every time, but even when I he didn't win he informed us that actually he HAD won so I guess it didn't matter one way or the other.

I had some overalls for Micah so I just had to get a picture of Micah and Grandpa Jim dressed in their overalls together.

Walking with the Powers

A few weeks ago we had gorgeous, almost hot weather so my friend Heather Powers and I went for a walk at the park while her kids played. We had lunch and chatted for quite a while. We then decided to go to the library and to McDonalds for some very healthy food. : ) Heather's kids are sweet. Natasha, Heather's daughter, really likes taking care of Micah. Definitely a future baby sitter.

Micah in the past thought is was funny to wear sunglasses, but now he is getting much quicker to pull them off. Micah also likes to pull my sunglasses off. It was funny the first few times, but now I am not sure. It may be a while before I am able to wear sunglasses is peace around Micah. : )

Micah's "No" face

This is Micah's "no" face when he doesn't want something. Usually the lips stick out a little bit more, but this picture captures it pretty well.

Goodbye Grandma

I want to say goodbye to my gandma Sara and post a picture of her from the last time that I saw her. I am glad that Micah got a chance to meet her before she passed away. My grandma was a very sweet lady. I'll miss her.

On my mind

Sara Budd had a post that kind of brought up something that has been bugging me lately. The main thing is how wasteful of money I am and how that money could mean so much more to someone else somewhere else. Like when I buy a frappacino and scone from Starbucks and I think, wow, that $5 could have fed someone for a couple of weeks in another country and how wasteful I am being. When I tell that to people they say I am basically exaggerating and I can't really look at it like that, but I don't know. If we all looked at it like that and started giving more of what we waste on extra stuff it seems like the world would be a better place. Am I thinking of this wrong. Because then I think, well what about the Europe vacation Jeff and I took. Couldn't those thousands of dollars been used to help people somewhere and been worth so much more? I feel like if I am right then everyone should just feel guilty all of the time because we all spend money on stuff that we don't need. Thoughts?

Life

It has been absolutely gorgeous weather here in San Jose. Micah and I went yesterday to Happy Hallow Zoo and Park again yesterday with two of my friends, Christy and her baby Maddy (13 months), and Michelle and her kids Madeline (4 years) and James (3months). We had fun although I didn't get any pictures. I have been slacking off on the picture taking, but I guess that since blogger is being weird for me I couldn't have posted them any way.

When we got home from the zoo Micah went swimming in his bath tub outside. It felt quite adventurous to be playing in the tub water outside on the patio with the humming birds eating from the feeder and the cat slinking about and the bees buzzing overhead. Micah was even a little clingy when I set him in the water which he never is regularly indoors, but he got used to it and liked swimming/bathing outdoors after a bit.

I am really getting to know Micah's personallity more as he is able to express himself better. I know that he is a cautious baby and wants to check things out before he dives right in. He likes people to be around him and doesn't like when people walk away from him. He is sensive and if you don't give him what he wants or take something away that he wants to keep he puts his chin down and pouts out is lower lip and just looks so hurt that you would do something like that. He almost has me wrapped around his little finger, but I am trying to be strong. I am realizing that pouty look also indicates that his telling you "NO". So if he is done eating or if you offer him anything he doesn't like he will do the same look. I will try to get a picture.

Micah has also picked up a silly habit from Jeff. Jeff looks at Micah and shakes his head back and forth so that his hair flys around. Micah will sometimes shake his head back and forth just to be silly.

Micah also LOVES mirrors. Basically if he can see himself in a mirror he is happy. Such a vain child.

Happy Birthday Luann

I have been trying for two days to upload pictures onto my blog for Luann's birthday without success, but I could post this video so here it is. Happy Birthday Luann!

We went out with Luann and Kevin to Red Lobster (one of my favorite restaurants) to celebrate Luann's birthday. It is always nice to hang out with them. Jeff and I haven't actually been out at a restaurant to eat in a while so it was a little interesting trying to keep Micah occupied, but we seemed to manage. Micah had a good time with Grandma and Grandpa.

Happy Hallow Park and Zoo

Jeff and I went yesterday to Happy Hallow Park and Zoo. We saw the animals then went over to the park side.

The first picture is of us on the merry-go-round.
The second picture and video clip we are on a train ride. Micah wasn't always sure he liked it but overall I think he did.

Pictures at the Park

One of the moms from my Las Madres group organized a bunch of us to have pictures taken by a photographer friend of hers. We got a short photo shoot with her and then she gave us the pictures on disk for a pretty good price. They weren't spectacular, but there were a couple cute ones. These were some of my favorites.

I do wish we had gotten a good family photo, but the two different poses she had us do both looked weird. Oh well.

Gymboree

These are some pictures from the Las Madres group I am a part of. We went to gymboree for the first quarterly birthday celebration for our group. I think Micah had a good time.

What's Happening

Pam was here two weekends ago for a visit but I am a little behind in blogging so here is a picture a little late. The reason I have not been blogging much is because Jeff and I are house hunting and it takes a lot of time. I will let you know if we have any serious possibilities for a house.

This next two pictures I just thought were cute.

Micah loves music so Jeff will sometimes play the piano or keyboard with Micah on his lap. I thought I would get a picture because it is cute. Also, notice the shirt that Micah is wearing and then look at the photo after. Do you notice anything?

If you noticed that the shirt seemed a bit more colorful in the second picture you are very observant. (I didn't get a very good picture inside the house) The shirt changes color in the sun! It was black and white in the house and very colorful in the sun. Neat! Since it was a sunny day I just had to try it out. : )
