A Short Visit from Mom and Jim

We went to a place called Roaring Camp Railroad. It was fun. We got there early and had lunch while we waited for the train to leave.

It was a beautiful trip through the Santa Cruz mountains.

Jeff and I played sheriff and the little lady.

It was fun to have Mom and Jim up for a visit.

On Our Way

We had a bit of an adventure on the way up to Tahoe with our youth. About an hour out of San Jose our new (used) church van got a flat tire. As our youth described, "It was just like Nascar, rubber flying everywhere". Well.... maybe not, but it was a little scary because we were on the freeway at the time. One of the parents had AAA, but when they helped us change the tire we realized that the spare was not going to get us far. We had to get off and get not one but 5 new tires. They told us that the van had the wrong size tires on it and they were all in pretty bad shape. Well, $900 and 5 hours later we were back on our way to Tahoe with 4 new tires on the van and new spare as well.

While we waited we hung out at the park. Some of the high schoolers decided to hang out on Jeff and each other. Yes, Jeff is under there somewhere.

These are the junior high youth that went with us as well as one of the leaders. Aren't they cute?

We had a lot of fun in Tahoe. The snow pics are on another camera. I will see if I can get some snow pics soon.

What a mess!

While Jeff and I were not paying attention, our candle made a huge mess. I especially liked how it hit the fire screen just right so that the wax was all over in it and against the brick work. Lots of fun to pick up.

True Love

I forgot to brag about what a sweetie Jeff is. (And I forgot to get a picture). When Jeff was gone in Chicago he sent me an absolutely beautiful bouquet of tulips. He sent them to my school where I was instantly the envy of every secretary in the office. Them: "He really sent you flowers just to say he missed you?" Me: "Yeah", big smile.

For Valentine's Day Jeff got me the yummiest pie from Marie Calendars. If you haven't had their banana cream pie do try it.

Yes I did share with Jeff.......
some.

Slowly But Surely

Here are some pictures (upon request) of the expanding waistline. Nothing really big yet. That is fine with me. I will be sick of big by the time the baby is finally here. 1st picture - 1st month, 2nd picture - 3rd month.

Yeah Jeff!

I would like to announce that Jeff is now the proud holder of a class B commercial drivers license with a passenger endorsement. He worked hard for this honor and only had to take the test two times. The first time he took the test he joked that he did so badly he didn't even get to the driving part, which sadly is actually true. He failed before he got to drive. It sounds bad but you should hear some of the stuff they made him memorize. Just hearing him talk about it made me a little overwhelmed. There is a list of over 50 different things he had to recite and show the DMV person before he even got into the vehicle. I tried to convince him to hold his temporary license so I could take a picture but either he is being shy or thought it was a stupid idea so you will just have to imagine Jeff's smiling face holding his temporary license.

Goodbye Cookie Dough, Hello "Fat and Frumpy"

Last night the junior high youth, Jeff and myself baked cookies to try to raise money for our snow week coming up. It was so sad to look at all of that wonderful cookie dough and not be able to eat it. I usually eat more cookie dough than baked cookies. Goodbye for now cookie dough, I will truely miss you.

At the same time I am saying hello to what I am officially calling the "Fat and Frumpy" stage of pregnancy. I don't look pregnant to anyone besides myself, but I do look a little chubby in the belly. My pants don't fit, but pregnancy pants don't fit either. It is kind of depressing. Hello "Fat and Frumpy".

Our 8th Grade Float

Here is the picture of the 8th grade float that I thought no one got. We presented the float at the rally on "School Spirit" day. Our theme was Treasure Island so we designed a pirate ship. It was fun to help the kids put it together. I don't have any pictures of the 6th or 7th grade float, but lets just say that we kicked bootee.

Spirit Week

Here are some pictures from spirit week. Each day there was a different theme at school. One of these days was the 80's so two of my fellow teachers and I got out some of our clothes from the past. ( Or went to the goodwill and bought back some clothes from the past).

This picture was taken on super hero day. On the back of our t-shirts is says something about teachers being role models and heros. I don't know if the kids bought our super hero act but they didn't mess with us since we had our huge muscular arms on.

Junior High Youth

The girls at church decided to dress up in costumes and somehow convinced me to join in. We had fun. And no I am not that big yet in the tummy, but the girls thought I needed to give a preview of the months to come.
