Children's Discovery Museum

We had a good time at the Children's Discovery Museum. Jeff took a couple of days off work so he came with us and was a great camera man. I wish I had got a couple of him with Micah. Next time.

Easter 2008

On the Saturday before Easter we went to an egg hunt in the park. In the first picture Micah tried to go out into the field that was roped off to grab some of the loot before they said "go". I made him put the egg down and come back to the side. He was pretty heart broken and cried on my shoulder for a couple minutes.

Now I really am a good mom. I had Micah's basket to collect eggs sitting by the door that morning. Jeff and Micah and I went somewhere earlier in the morning and we didn't end up going home again so Micah got a garbage bag to stash his eggs in. I don't think he cared.

Micah liked the Easter Bunny. He even gave him a hug.

On Sunday we went over to Kevin and Luann's house. They always do an egg hunt for the "kids". That includes Jeff and Ashley and I as well. Of course we had to leave the easy eggs for Micah. : ) Jeff and Ashley always compete to see who can get the most eggs. It makes the hunting pretty fierce.

Jeff showing of his bounty.

Ashley counting her eggs.

Kevin and Jeff just kicking it.

Micah played it smart. Before the competition began he stole all of the reeses cups out of Ashley's basket.

Micah had fun but I am not sure if he really understood what was going on. I think that for part of it he thought that I was making him clean up. It was funny to see him want to check out and play with or eat everything when he picked it up. He didn't really get the delay of gratification very well.

A visit from the other Budds

A while back David and Sarah stopped in San Jose on their way home from LA. It turned out that Jeff was busy the whole time but I had fun hanging out with them and Kevin and Luann.

We went to the park that evening to get some exercise and play.

Then we dressed up.

Then of course we had some accordian music. David was pretty good and the kids were fascinated with it.

The next day we went to Happy Hallow. All of the kids loved it. Ellen and Isaiah got a kick out of the merry-go-rounds. I am glad that the kids get along well when we see each other.

I love this picture.

And of course we had to feed and pet the animals.

The kids must have thought they were mountain goats.

The Japanese gardens are right next door to Happy Hallow. If you park there you can usually not pay for parking and take a nice walk through the gardens. That is what we did. The gardens are beautiful.

My cat

Well, this is kind of old news by now but my cat Al was really sick last week. Sick enough that I thought he might die and almost took him to emergency at 5:00 am one morning. Well, two trips to the vet and about $250 later he is alive and kicking. He is a great cat and I am so glad that he didn't die. I actually found him two times at his sickest just laying in his cat box. If you know anything about cats you know they are pretty clean and have to be feeling really bad to be laying where they go to the bathroom. Without going into too much detail lets just say that Al had some vomiting and poop issues so he had to stay in the bathroom most of the time. I felt bad for him after he had been in the bathroom almost two days so I let him out and he leaked on the carpet. Poor thing. He didn't mean to, it was just the poop issues I was talking about. I picked him up and cleaned him up, I was doing a lot of that for him, and went to put him back in the bathroom. I was thinking that I wished there was a way he could still be out and not stuck in the bathroom and remembered that they sell diapers for animals and then I thought maybe Micah's diaper would work. I thought about the whole tail issue and decided I could just cut a spot for it. It worked great and Al got to hang out with us during the day. He doesn't look very happy in these two pictures but he really didn't seem to mind it too much.

Seattle

We visited Seattle in order to remember Jeff's grandfather, Galen Budd. He passed away last month so we did a grave side with the whole family. The first pictures are at the hotel. We had a fun time hanging out and even went swimming one morning.

It was a beautiful afternoon for the graveside.

Afterwards we went to Kathy's friend's house to hang out with family and friends.

All in all it was an awesome few days of being with family.
