Rolling Over

This vacation we figured out why Micah was taking so long to roll over. He was waiting to do it as a Christmas present for us.

I don't know why but the sound is off on all of my videos so I am encouraging Micah to finish rolling over when he is already done. Oh well.

LA Christmas

We visited family in LA for Christmas this year and had lots of fun. These are some pictures from our trip. Most were taken at David and Melissa's new beautiful home.

Mom and Jim

Some of Melissa's family joined us. Here is me, Melissa's godmother, sister and mom, my Dad, Caiden, Pam and Jake.

Christmas Outing

Last night we went to a Catholic Cathedral to listen to a professional pianist and saxiphone player. It was absolutely beautiful with the acustics in the Cathedral. It had the high round ceiling. They were great and on some songs jazzed it up a bit so it was fun also.

Christmas picture

Well... it's not our fireplace and it's not our tree (we never got one), but our Christmas picture didn't come out too bad.

This is Micah as we searched for the perfect Christmas tree. (Decent looking and cheap) I am sad to say we never found it so we will remain without a christmas tree this year.

Advent for Advent

For our Christmas program this year we had a string quartet come and play. They were really good. All of the proceeds went to a group called Advent. They suport teens who have no where left to go. They give them a place to live, counseling and hopefully a chance to turn around their life. It seemed like a really neat program.

Talk Fest

Here Micah is showing off his new vocal skills. He thought it was pretty funny when I would copy him.

Micah's Kiss Face or Fish Face?

I had to capture Micah's new facial expression. We couldn't quite figure it out since he wasn't hungry. We thought maybe he was just experimenting.

New Stuff

Last week I tried out Micah's sling again because he is getting too heavy for me to carry easily all over the place. He did not hate it like he used to. I think it is because he is big enough to sit in it so he can look around rather than before when he laid in it and couldn't see anything.

I brought out the exersaucer this week so it was funny to see Chris post that Emily this week got the same one. Our's is a hand-me-down from some friends, but it is in great condition. Micah likes it but gets a little frustrated when he can't do what he wants in it. I think Micah takes after me in the patience department.

This week I also set up the high chair since our pediatrician said we could try giving Micah some rice cereal. The high chair is awesome. (Thanks David and Melissa) This is Micah trying out the high chair right after we set it up.

Micah has been facinated watching Jeff and I eat so I thought he might be ready to try something new. The next day we tried giving Micah some cereal but he didn't do very well with it. He mainly just pushed out of his mouth what I gave him and smeared it on his face. I think we will wait and try again a little later.

A fun visit

We went to visit some friends of ours, Michelle and Jim, in the hospital after they had their baby. The baby's name is James. Jim and Michelle help Jeff with a kid's club at an elementary school. I talked about Michelle watching Micah in a previous post.

The baby was so cute. They also have a daughter named Madeline who is 4 years old. We are looking forward to James and Micah playing together in the future.

We were trying to show in the second picture the size difference between James and Micah, but you can't really tell in the picture.

Drawing first blood

Well, I managed to personally give Micah his first war wound in the Budd household. I guess I should make sure next time I trim his nails that I am not triming his fingers with the nails.

4 Month Check Up

Micah went in today for his 4 month check up and he is doing well. He had to get shots but he was a trooper. (After he cried his little head off) The doctor said that his height, at 26 inches, is in the 80th percentile and his weight, at 17 pounds 2 ounces, is in the 90th percentile. His head circumference was 45 cm but I don't know what percentile that falls under. It is funny how it makes me happy but sad at the same time to see Micah growing so fast.

Football Game

Last week was the staff football game. I usually play in it but this year I didn't because I got kind of hurt last year and also running hasn't been very comfortable since I have been breast feeding. It was also the birthday of DJ, one of the students from our club on campus. Here are some pictures from the game.
