Being sick is no fun.

Well, I am officially sick of being sick. I have been sick off and on for about 2 weeks now and it is no fun. As soon as I start to feel better I get knocked off of my feet again. I am surprised because most of the time I get sick when I am really pushing myself or not eating healthy, but neither of those is an issue right now. I think what I have is just going around.

So much for pregnant women having an increased immune system. Oh well.

I think it is, too, based on my inability to breathe for the last 6 weeks. I agree that it is no fun.

The increased immune system statement was second hand information from a friend so it might be incorrect. I looked it up but couldn't find any information in my book.

If it's not a decreased immune system, I do know that it is an increase in your mucous membranes, giving some women a stuffed nose & congestion through some parts of their pregnancy. Granted, they always say "some women".

i thought it was decreased because as weird as it sounds the baby acts kinda like a parasite and if your immune system wasn't decreased you'd be likely to 'reject it'. or something...? but you're the science teacher. :)

oh a decreased i.s. would also explain why pregnant women are eligible for flu shots (only people at risk can get them when supplies are low - little little kids, old people, health workers and pregnant women)

Okay, I agree with Sarah now. That sounds right. Darn parasites :).
